Author • Poet • Caregiver

I am Dr. David Soh Poh Huat, a financial adviser, author, poet, and caregiver based in Singapore. Over the years, I have discovered a unique calling that combines my professional experience, my caregiving journey, and my passion for writing.

My mission is simple:

  • To make my books and research accessible worldwide
  • To create awareness about the healing potential of soursop leaves
  • To provide a resource hub for caregivers, who often walk a difficult but selfless journey
  • To inspire and uplift through literature, poetry, and lived experience

A Journey in Writing

Although I built a career in financial advisory, my writing journey began unexpectedly in 2021. I discovered a gift for poetry and prose, which quickly grew into a passion for storytelling with purpose. My works span from health and wellness to caregiving insights and social issues.

Since then, my poems and essays have appeared in national and international magazines, journals, newspapers, and anthologies, earning recognition and awards along the way. In 2022, I was awarded a Doctorate in Literature, affirming my role as both writer and advocate.

Recent accolades include:

  • The Literature TimesTop 10 Most Influencing Authors of 2024 (New Delhi)
  • The Literary TitansTop 10 Must-Read Authors Shaping Literature in 2025 (New Delhi)

Books That Reflect My Mission

I have authored several books, each born out of personal experience and research:

  • Nature Gifts of the Soursop Leaves – Exploring the potential health benefits of soursop leaves, inspired by my late sister’s cancer journey.
  • Care Giving Gift of Unconditional Love – A heartfelt guide on the realities of caregiving and the true meaning of giving from the heart.
  • Being a Caregiver, is it a Profession? – Advocating for greater recognition of caregiving as an essential profession in society.
  • Scam the Scammers – A reflection on ethics, responsibility, and the dangers of unchecked deceit in our communities.
  • Welcome to My World – Dementia, Why! – A compassionate exploration of the dementia journey for both patients and families.

Each book is written with the hope of offering knowledge, comfort, and encouragement to those facing life’s challenges.

Advocacy and Community

Beyond writing, I actively engage with communities online and offline:

  • Founder of the Nature Gifts of the Soursop Leaves Facebook group, now with 44,000 members worldwide, dedicated to sharing knowledge and experiences on soursop leaves.
  • Founder of International Carer’s Fraternity, a global support network where caregivers can share stories, challenges, and encouragement.

Through these initiatives, my goal is to build communities of hope, support, and knowledge-sharing.

Media Recognition

My work has been featured in multiple international outlets, including:

  • ANI News
  • The Print
  • Lokmat Times

A Life Guided by Faith and Purpose

At the heart of everything I do—whether in financial services, writing, or caregiving—is my belief in faith, compassion, and unconditional love. These principles have carried me through personal loss and inspired me to share my journey so that others may find hope, healing, and strength.

Welcome to my world. May my books, writings, and experiences bring you encouragement and guidance along your own journey.
